Introduction

SafeEdit (“we”, “our”, “us”) is a Shopify application that enables merchants to bulk edit their products with preview and rollback capabilities. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

Store Information

  • Shopify store domain
  • Store timezone
  • Subscription plan (FREE or PRO)

Product Data

  • Product titles, prices, inventory levels, and status
  • This data is used solely for the bulk editing and rollback features

What We Do NOT Collect

  • Customer personal information
  • Order data
  • Payment information
  • Marketing or analytics data about your customers

How We Use Your Information

  • Product snapshots — We store copies of product data before bulk edits to enable the rollback feature
  • Edit history — We track bulk edit operations for your review and undo capabilities
  • Error tracking — We collect anonymized error reports to improve app stability. You can disable this in Settings > Privacy

Data Storage and Security

  • All data is stored in secure PostgreSQL databases hosted on Supabase (AWS infrastructure)
  • Shopify access tokens are encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption
  • All communications use HTTPS/TLS encryption
  • Webhook signatures are verified using HMAC-SHA256

Error Logging

We collect anonymous error reports to improve SafeEdit's reliability. This includes:

  • JavaScript error messages and stack traces
  • API error codes and endpoint paths
  • Browser user agent string

We do NOT collect product data, prices, inventory, customer information, or any personally identifiable information through error logging.

You can opt out of error logging at any time in Dashboard > Settings > Privacy. When disabled, no error data will be collected or stored.

Data Retention

  • Product snapshots — 7 days (FREE plan) or 30 days (PRO plan), then automatically deleted
  • Edit history — Retained while the app is installed
  • Error logs — Automatically deleted after 30 days

Data Deletion

When you uninstall SafeEdit, all your data is immediately and permanently deleted, including store information, product snapshots, edit history, and error logs. This process is automatic and irreversible.

Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your data with any third parties. Your data is only used to provide the SafeEdit service.

GDPR Compliance

We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You have the right to:

  • Request access to your data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Request correction of your data

To exercise these rights, uninstall the app (which deletes all data) or contact us at the email below.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
